Hello readers, I'm sorry if I've not provided my usual cronies with tidbits of what's happening in my life- I have merely been caught up in a whirlwind of office meetings, client meetings, out-of-the-office meetings, meet-ups with friends and ballet. Last week saw me getting home earlier (I was home before midnight 3 of the 5 work days) and those days that I was out, I had a blast. Monday was spent with the gorgeous Bradley James, hilarious Colin Morgan and the ever-entertaining Qi. I was so determined on watching all the remaining episodes of Merlin.. and Glee.. oh yeah and Sherlock.. and.. is that it for now? Yeah, well I almost fell asleep on the bus (I KNOW RIGHT? JAYASRI+ SLEEPING ON BUSES= NEVER HAPPENS) so that was a head shake in the negative to watching anything on the bus.
I was thinking about getting back early the next night to watch but something cropped up.. due to temporary amnesia, I cannot recall what. Anyway, wednesday was spent in front of the telly cheering Aide's lads (and no. 14 in particular) on for their match since I got bailed on to actually go for the match. I was utterly and hopelessly demotivated after the results. I mean good on them for that one goal but the got crushed. Needless to say I went to bed with a heavy heart. Friday was reserved for the UON Alumni dinner shindig at Aloha Changi. Met an interesting bunch of people. On hindsight, I might have been the centre of attraction.. considering I was the only young 'un and had yet to hold the testamur in my hand.. and because I was one of 4 woman in total to be there till the end.
Saturday was spent with my cheeky but absolutely adorable 10-year-old tuition kid. Twas Children's Day the day before so the kiddies got lollies and small presents. I love how they make the kids feel so special (I volunteer at a not-for-profit organisation that provides assistance to kids and their families based on issues such as ADD, ADHD and other medical conditions) even though they have to work so hard for donations. For Teachers' Day, tutors like myself had a mini party thrown for us and.... [sorry, got a wee bit distracted, Aaron just walked in to the room C:] I received a plaque/stand thing that had the cohort of the kids we teach and my lad's name was bolded and enlarged. We got other teaching materials like stickies but the best present I got was a card from my boy. Apparently other tutors didn't get one from their kiddies though.. Now you'd see why twas the best gift.
Ballet is getting exhausting.. but liberating. I'm doing SO many new things. Fouette rond de jambe en tournants, pirouettes and the likes. I ache all over the next day but it's all worth it. Doing everything on pointe for the ele class makes me glow with pleasure (and perspiration) but it's all worthwhile when I see the younger dancers look on in awe. YAY BALLET! C:
