Diwali 2007 [morning]

I PASSED!!

Basic Theory. Finished and checked it in 5 mins. The invigilator said I broke the record. LOL.

Plus I saw six FIGHTER PLANES land at extremely close proximity!! Everyone had their ears closed and backed off toward the office while I remained standing in the middle of the carpark. I swear, I was on a high.

If I thought that was all, boy was I in for more surprises.
My dad calmly hands me this invite and I thought it was for another diwali thingy and almost tossed it aside when I yelped off the couch and then started shrieking hysterically instead.

This was why.

VIVIAN BALAKRISHNAN was the Guest-of -Honor.

Then comes the next shocker that sent me into a mad frenzy.

SARAVANAN AYYAVOO was the host.
Double reason to go! I didn't realise till very much later that the show was gonna be broadcast live. And that yet again, we had reserve seats- in the front row.

I ended up sitting 10 seats away from Vivian and 3 seats away from his dad. Golly golly gosh! Plus Vivian said "Hi!"

Already on a high from seeing Saravanan so close-up, I had to maintain the appropriate decorum for the Minister, the people sitting in the VIP area AND the camera crew that kept taking shots of us too! Unfortunately, the sources that told me they saw me on tellie told me a lil too late. I had no idea they took us too. Pfftt.

That's Dr Vivian Balakrishnan on the left in red, I'm in bright turquoise and his dad is on my right, 3 seats away.

Shabir performed too! He was kinda sexy.. Thank God at least one vote went right for Vasantham Star.

Then there are, the pictures from a front seat view:

That's of Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for MCYS and MICA and the members of the organising commitee [and one person who's an absolute extra and who has no business whatsoever there] (I know this person personally and I wish his hair will fly away some day) up on stage to start the Countdown. Most of its on video and I'm having a hard time getting it uploaded.

Anyway, its a day I won't forget cos I got a "Hi" and "Nice meeting you, bye" from Vivian Balakrishnan, welcoming in Diwali with him and Saravanan, and thoroughly enjoying myself with the dances and the really good jokes between Saravanan and Vishnu and ending up being introduced and talking to Hri Kumar, MP for Bishan- Toa Payoh if I'm not wrong. Although, do I really wanna be known by anymore people?? I could just bump into him another time at some place where I wasn't to be in.... hmmm.

Saravanan Ayyavoo was THE BEST!! Oooh. The banter between him and Vishnu, simply hilarious. I've been voting twice everyday for each category he's been nominated in for the S'pore Radio Awards (SRA). I'm even considering paying the 28 bucks and going to support him.. hmm. any followers??

And Dr Balakrishnan sounds really adorable when he tries to speak in Tamil-but at least he tries. My dad should read the last bit of what I wrote. The objective word being TRIED.
